I’d like to use additional space
for the LOI narrative. Is this okay?
Due to the volume of LOI forms that are received, we ask that
all LOIs conform to the space allotted. Please also respect
our request to restrict enclosures to a single brochure or
pamphlet. (A reminder - this is
not
an application.)
Do I need to have a WWF member endorse
my LOI project?
No. Each fall, WWF
members have the opportunity to recommend organizations to
the grant committee. However, this is not required and many
projects move forward without formal member support.
Does WWF support only projects relating
to women?
No. The Foundation funds broadly and considers proposals serving
a wide array of causes that are of interest to our membership.
Does the WWF fund requests for operating
support?
Yes, though generally speaking, a specific explanation of
how the funds would support the mission of the organization
and what the impact of the funds would be, is helpful.
Does the WWF consider requests for
capital projects?
Yes.
Does the WWF consider requests for
endowment funds?
No.
My organization was funded by WWF
in the past. Can I submit an LOI again?
If it has been 5 years since the first disbursement of funds
from a WWF grant, organizations are welcome to submit an LOI
again for possible consideration by the Grant Committee. This
means that organizations that were pooled
fund award winners in the year 2003
and before are again eligible to be considered for funding
in the 2008
grant cycle.
I’ve submitted the LOI form.
What’s next?
WWF will confirm
the receipt of all LOI forms via postcard no later than December
21, 2007. If you do not receive a postcard, please
contact Marion
at the WWF office at marion@wawomensfoundation.org
or (206) 340-1710.
Please remember that submission of an LOI
form is not a formal application for funding; the LOI process
is intended to be an avenue for research and information-gathering
for the WWF Grant Committee. LOIs are reviewed beginning in
January 2008,
and formal Requests for Proposals will be extended to 25 organizations
in late February, 2008.
Only these 25 organizations will be actively considered for
funding in the 2008
grant cycle.
If it’s March 2008
and I haven’t heard back from the Foundation, what does
this mean?
If your organization does not hear from WWF by March 2008,
this is an indication that your LOI will not be formally considered
this year for funding by the Grant Committee. Due to the volume
of LOIs received, we are not able to contact organizations
to inform them of this individually. Please consider re-submitting
an LOI for the 2009
grant cycle (deadline: November 2008).
The Foundation will post the 25 organizations selected to
receive RFPs on the WWF website by the
end of February
2008.
