For the members of Washington Women's Foundation, their annual donations of $2,300 open the door to a new way to give - with knowledge, with deliberation, with impact. For those in our community who support our work - members and non-members, male and female - we also welcome individual donations to our annual fund and endowment. Because our thoughtful grant-making process is well respected throughout the community - ensuring confidence and integrity in grant decisions - you can be assured that your gift will help us make our community a better place to live for us all.

The Annual Fund:
The Annual Fund supports the annual operating budget of the Foundation, and is directed toward the Foundation’s grant making and philanthropy education programs as well as other office administration expenses to support our vibrant and growing membership.

The Colleen S. Willoughby Endowment:
In 2005, the Foundation embarked on an endowment effort to honor the inspiration and leadership of our founder, Colleen Willoughby. The intent of this fund is to provide for the long-term sustainability and vitality of the Washington Women’s Foundation.
The Endowment Fund reached a $2.5 million balance in 2010, and continues to grow through the generosity of members and community donors who choose to make gifts and pledges to this fund. The Foundation also holds special events from time to time to help the Endowment grow. Members may make donations to the Endowment online by credit card, or by check or stock contribution at any time.

Helen Stusser“Each member gives her $2,300 a year with $1,000 going to pooled grants and another $1,000 to nonprofits we select on our own. That leaves $300 to pay for all the educational programs and events, the office, the staff and many other expenses. That isn't nearly enough, and so we have established an annual fund and an endowment. We want Washington Women's Foundation to be around forever. That's why we encourage members - and anyone else who supports what we're doing - to give to the annual fund and to the endowment.”
