Pacific Northwest Global Donors Conference - March 19 & 20


Friday, March 19, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., and
Saturday, March 20, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

WWF is a partner sponsor for this conference that explores how to establish and enhance a commitment to international philanthropy. This conference is designed  for Northwest grantmakers and philanthropists, and will:
  • provide information on global grantmaking,
  • provide education on many of today’s most significant global issues;
  • identify strategies to address root causes of global poverty and other human rights issues; and
  • link the growing community of global philanthropists in the region.
 
Featuring Kavita Ramdas, President and CEO of the Global Fund for Women, and Bill Gates Sr., Co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  

Cost is $150 if registered before March 5, $200 after.

An inspiring book about Geoffrey Canada's dedication to improve and transform the lives of low-income children in Harlem.
  Harlem Children's Zone, the nonprofit he founded, is providing new models for education, early learning, and social justice.

Share and reflect on insights from this book with your fellow WWF members.  A representative from Rainier Scholars, WWF's 2003 Grantee in Education, will also join us to discuss their work and local initiatives similar to HCZ.

This is a brown bag lunch event.

Neighborhood Gathering: Featuring WWF Member Bobbe Bridge - April 28


Hear from a fellow WWF Member, The Honorable Bobbe Bridge.  After retiring from her service on the Washington Supreme Court, Justice Bridge founded the Center for Children & Youth Justice (CCYJ), a nonprofit dedicated to reforming the state's juvenile justice and child welfare systems.  Learn about Justice Bridge's passion for juvenile justice issues, and her experience as founder and president of CCYJ.
